Q: What is the Joint Meeting on Adolescent Treatment Effectiveness (JMATE)?
A: JMATE provides a forum for a wide range of partners to come together to discuss the latest advances in adolescent drug treatments, with a particular emphasis on the unique perspectives of youth and their families. The conference promotes discussion among researchers, treatment providers, families, youth, community leaders, and policy makers about how clinical practices can be improved and how different constituencies can contribute to these efforts. This year, the conference theme is Synergy Envisioned ~ Action Inspired. The purpose of this theme is to continue to promote synergistic working relationships among reserachers, policymakers, youth/families, program planners, and service providers adn to inspire action to improve the health and well being of youth and families.

A: The conference will be held Tuesday, December 14 through Thursday, December 16, 2010. Conference activities begin Tuesday morning and continue through Thursday afternoon.

A: Adolescent treatment researchers, evaluators, and data managers; project directors and clinical supervisors; clinicians involved in delivering services under Federally-funded gratns; Federal, State, local and private foundation policy makers; and youth, families and other members of the recovery community.

A: You can learn how others have:
- implemented, adapted, and improved evidence based assessments and treatments,
- conducted research using new and innovative research hypotheses and methodologies,
- analyzed policy issues to improve the systems that support the delivery of treatment and recovery services, and
- helped to decrease barriers and the stigma associated with accessing services and recovery supports.

Q: How do I register to attend JMATE?
A: Online registration for the JMATE conference is now open. Plese visit the Registration page of the JMATE website at www.jmate.org/jmate2010/Registration.aspx to complete the registration process.
Q: Is there a registration fee for JMATE?
A: There is no registration fee for the 2010 JMATE conference. However, participants will be responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.
As of April 6, 2010, the government lodging rate is $135 plus taxes and fees. This rate is subject to change and JMATE participants will be charged the prevailing government rate at the time of the meeting. The prevailing government rate will be available on October 1, 2010, at which time the rate will be posted on the JMATE website.
